A blend of old acoustic instrumentation with new musical ideas. Julio Garcia, a veteran of 19 years in the salsa music business, and John Stone a 28 year musician of many styles including blues, Irish, flamenco and other world music, have combined to give the Cuban Son a new face. The Son was born in Cuba at the turn of the 18th century as a combination of African rhythms and Iberian harmonies. In the last century the Son, internationally known as Salsa music, has developed into many music varieties, including Rumba, Cha-cha, Bolero, Songo, Guaracha and other rhythms. Today John and Julio are giving an old style some fresh flavor. With wonderful harmonies and new lyric lines these musicians are hoping to make a splash in an already deep ocean.
